Itron Reaches Out To Third Party Developers
Liberty Lake, Washington-based smart meter maker Itron is reaching out to third party developers, saying that it has launched a new community to encourage those developers to create apps for the "Internet of Things". Itron said its new, online platform provides access to Itron's Riva platform, which allows developers to prototype, validate and develop Internet-of-Things applications, such as energy and water management apps, building energy management, smart street lighting, and other apps. Itron is taking pre-orders for a development kit for its platform, which it says costs $85.00.
