Echodyne Gets $15M

Bellevue-based Echodyne said late last week that it has scored $15M in an initial funding round, which came from Bill Gates and Madrona Venture Group. The funding also included Vulcan Capital, Lux Capital, The Kresge Foundation, and others. Echodyne is a spinout of Intellectual Ventures, and says it is developing radar products based on metamaterials technology based on research from Duke University and the University of California at San Diego.
