NRGindependence Gets Backing From Oregon BEST
NRGindependence, a new startup spun out of Oregon State University, has scored commercialization funding from Oregon BEST, the commercialization organization created by the Oregon Institute of Technology, Oregon State University, Portland State University, and University of Oregon. According to Oregon BEST, NRGindependence has received commercialization funding from the group, with additional funding from the OSU Venture Fund. Amount of that funding was not disclosed. NRGindependence is working on chemical processes to improve battery life. The company says its process could extend the life of redox flow battery cores by as much as three times, up to 20 years. It says rechargeable redox flow batteries, are used to store renewable energy generated by solar or wind. More information »
