Amazon's New Surprise! Targets Birthdays, Occasions

Amazon.com rolled out a new mobile app today, aimed at helping its customers remember the birthdays and other special occasions of family members and friends--using a connection into Facebook. The new app--which runs on iOS, Android, and Amazon's own devices--remembers the important occasions of a user's contacts, and helps thems end quick e-cards and gift cards on those occasions. Amazon said the new app uses Friends & Family from Facebook, plus a device's calendar and contacts, and also automatically syncs with Amazon's Friends & Family Gifting program.
