Amazon Set To Launch Travel Site, Says Report

Amazon.com is getting set to muscle into the online travel industry, with the launch of its own hotel booking site, according to reports Thursday. According to the report, the new service will allow users to book rooms at independent hotels and resorts near major cities, starting initially in New York, Los Angeles, and Seattle. The report--from Skift--says the service is likely to debut around the first of next year.
