Amazon Pledges To Run Cloud With 100 Percent Renewable Energy

Amazon Web Services, Amazon.com's cloud computing arm, said Wednesday that it has pledged to run with 100 percent renewable energy over the long term. The company did not give a timeframe for reaching the goal. Amazon.com has faced protests by Greenpeace in the past for falling behind competitors like Google, Facebook, and Yahoo in adopting green and renewable power technology in its cloud services.
