RealNetworks Cuts 10 Percent

Seattle-based RealNetworks said late Tuesday that it is cutting 10 percent of its workforce, or approximately 86 people, as part of a move to make the business more efficient. Rob Glaser, in a note to employees he posted to Facebook, said the cuts were mostly in its legacy codec business, and came as a result of "faster-than-expected declines" in its codec IP licensing business and third party software distribution business.
