FAA To Amazon.com: No Drones For You!
The Federal Aviation Administration--which has furiously been trying to ban the commercial use of drones until it figures out how to make them co-exist with current air traffic--has specifically included language in a proposed rule on model aircraft, saying that using a drone for "delivering packages to people for a fee" is a commercial use of those aircraft, and is looking to ban the use. The FAA, among other proposals, also is looking to limit the use of goggles for first-person guidance of drone aircraft, and also is looking to enforce "visual line of sight" rules for those drones. The FAA is also looking to ban drone usage near airports or crowds.
