HashPlex Gets $400K For Bitcoin Mining
Seattle-based HashPlex, a provider of hosting of Bitcoin mining software, said last week that it has raised $400,000 in a seed funding round. The funding came from Barry Silbert (Bitcoin Opportunity Corp.) and Jason Prado (Plannr). HashPlex is developing a stack of hardware and software specifically used for cloud hosting of Bitcoin mining efforts. Bitcoin mining is the process of "creating" the alternative Bitcoin currency, which involves solving very complex equations in a race against others. Those efforts typically take either vast farms of clustered servers, or specialized hardware. More information »
