Ignition Partners Gets Exit At ScaleXtreme

Seattle-based venture investor Ignition Partners has scored an exit in the enterprise systems management space, with the acquisition of portfolio firm ScaleXtreme by Citrix. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed. ScaleXtreme develops cloud sytsems management software, which is being incorporated into a new offering from Citrix called Citrix Workspace Services. ScaleXtreme had raised somewhere around $11.0M in funding from Accel Partners and Ignition Partners. Ignition's investment in ScaleXtreme was made by Frank Artale, who maybe not so coincidentally had once served as Group Vice President of Business Development at Citrix after selling XenSource to Citrix back in 2007. Artale's fellow managing partner, John Connors, also sat on the board of Xensource .
