Ignition Partners Gets Big Exit At Whiptail
Seattle-based venture investor Ignition Partners has scored a nice exit today, after one of its portfolio companies, Whiptail, was acquired by Cisco. Cisco said it would pay $415M to acquire Whiptail, a maker of solid state disk drives. Ignition's Richard Fade sits on the board of Whiptail, with Ignition's Frank Artale serving as a board observer on the company's board. Ignition Partners invested in Whiptail in January of 2012, when Fade joined the company's board of directors.
