Vhoto Launches New Photo App, Raises $2.4M

Seattle- and Boston-based Vhoto, a new startup developing software which filters through a user's videos to find "amazing photos", launched today, saying it has raised $2.4M in seed funding. The company said the funding came from Atlas Ventures, Polaris Partners, and others. Vhoto--led by Hugh Crean--said its new app is now free in the App Store, and runs on the iPhone and iPod Touch. Vhoto's software flips through videos to find sharp, well-framed, and other appealing photos which users can then capture and share with their friends. More information »
