Bing Applies Technology To Predict Winners Of The Voice

Seattle-based search engine Bing is applying its wealth of technology--and data--to the popular television show The Voice, the service said today, and will tap its search data and query information to try to predict the winner of the show. According to Bing, it is using data corresponding to popularity of contestants on the show to try to predict winners of The Voice, combining that with social signal and keywords. Bing said the predictions are the first part of an effort by the search engine to predict other shows---including voting shows like The Voice, American Idol and Dancing With The Stars. Bing also said it might apply the algorithm and models behind the predictions to sporting events and elections.
