Real Estate Listing Delays Hit Zillow, Trulia, Not Redfin
A move by a major multiple listing service (MLS) in the city of Los Angeles is threatening online real estate sites Zillow, Trulia, and others--but not Redfin--as old line real estate brokerage firms are fighting against the encroachment of the popular sites on their traditional, brick-and-mortar business. The Los Angeles/Westside MLS (CLAW), which has a lock on home sales listings for some parts of Los Angeles, has delayed its data feed listings by 48 hours to help its brokers compete, according to a report from Inman News. It looks like nearly every real estate listing site is being hit by the delay, except REdfin, which bragged that--since it is a real estate brokerage itself--it is not affected by the change.
