Donuts To Open Up First Domains To Public Tomorrow

Bellevue-based domain name registrar Donuts said it is getting set to open up registration for its new, top level Internet domains to the public starting on Wednesday, starting with the .BIKE, .CLOTHING, .GURU, .HOLDINGS, .PLUMBING, .SINGLES, and .VENTURES. domains. The initial set will be followed by hundreds of others that Donuts is planning to launch throughout the year -- the first part of an ICANN plan to expand beyond the typical .COM, .NET, .ORG, and other top level domains (TLDs) consumers are used to using to access Internet web sites. Donuts has been in pre-registration efforts with trademark holders since late last year.
