Northwest Energy Angels Becomes Element 8

Seattle-based angel investment group Northwest Energy Angels said Thursday that it has relaunched itself as Element 8. The group said the name better reflects "who we are and where we're going". The group said, in particular, that it sees lots of deal flow from companies who are outside of the Northwest, and who are not pure energy companies. The group said it may $3.8M in investments across 13 companies in 2013. Element 8 said it invests in a wide range of clean technology and sustainability-focused startups, and has invested now in 43 total companies in Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Maryland, Montana, New York, Washington, D.C. and British Columbia, Canada.
