Itron Releases New Water Meter

Smart utility meter maker Itron said today that it has released a new, ultrasonic wate rmeter that it says is aimed at improving residential water metering. According to Itron, its new Intelis residential ultrasonic water device can measure and capture information on flow rates, temperature, and detect air in pipes, in addition to measuring water volume. The company also said the new device does not include any moving parts, to help protect against unplanned maintenance costs. Pricing on the new device was not disclosed. Itron is based in Liberty Lake, Washington, and is a major provider of connected, smart meters for a variety of industries.
