The Climate Corp. Acquired By Monsanto For $930M

The Climate Corporation, which provides data-based, weather insurance and weather monitoring services, has been acquired by Monsanto in a huge, $930M deal. The firm--which has offices in Seattle--offers up a range of weather insurance products to farmers, based on high resolution weather simulations and agronomic data modeling. The Climate Corporation was venture backed by Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures, Google Ventures, NEA, Index Ventures, Atomico, Glynn Capital, and Western Technology Investment.
