Bing Offers Up Ad-Free Search For Schools
Redmond-based Bing announced a new, ad-free version of its search service this morning, as part of an outreach to school districts nationwide. According to Bing, its new pilot program, Bing for Schools, gives school districts an option to allow ad-free search in their schools, to avoid commercialization of student web searches. Bing said it is the first, and only, major search engine to provide an ad-free choice to educators. In addition to removing advertisements, Bing said its new Bing for Schools includes strict adult content filters, digital literacy features, and more.
