Nintendo Takes On Console Pirates, Hackers
Nintendo said today that it has filed a lawsuit against the operator of a website which lets users bypass security measures on its Nintendo DS and Wii consoles. According to Nintendo, it has filed suit against HackYourConsole.com, in the Southern District of Florida, saying that piracy has had a "huge impact" on games sales. Nintendo claims that HackYourConsole allows users to hack and modify the Wii and Nintendo DS to play illegal games, which have been copied from other users. The videogame hardware maker also said that HackYourConsole "blatantly promotes and sells unauthorized Nintendo games".
