OEN: Entrepreneurship Grew in 2012 In Oregon
It might still be a somewhat difficult economy in Oregon, however, according to recent numbers from the Oregon Entrepreneur Network, entrepreneurs here have actually done okay. The OEN said its second annual Benchmark Survey found that entrepreneurs had a 72% growth in employment in 2012, compared with 43% in 2011, and added more than 1,313 jobs to the Oregon economy during the year. The OEN said that financially, the entrepreneurs surveyed also had a good year in terms of revenues, with an average 41 percent year-over-year increase in gross revenues. The OEN--an industry group which supports local entrepreneurship--has been asking entrepreneurs, investors and service providers to startups a number questions about jobs, funding, and more. The survey is the second for the group, and included 190 OEN members and nonmbers.
