eNom Racks Up gTLD Resellers
Although those brand new, global top level domains (gTLDs) are not yet available, Kirkland-based eNom says this week that it is seeing lots of demand from resellers interested in the new top level domains. eNom said that so far, it has signed up more than 400 resellers for a new TLD initiative, which will help its partners as part of the launch of those domain extensions. ICANN is in the midst of allowing nearly any domain extension to be operated, sold, and monetized, significantly expanding the current .net, .com, .org, and country-specific domains which are marketed today. Those gTLDs are expected to debut sometime later this year. eNom said that there are more than 1,000 new TLDs coming to the market in fall.
