Microsoft Sets Messenger Retirement Date
Users of Microsoft Messenger, Microsoft's legacy instant messaging app, will have until March 15th to use the platform, after which they'll be migrated over to Skype, the firm told users Tuesday. Microsoft announced in November that users of Microsoft Messenger would be migrated over to Skype, which Microsoft acquired in 2011 for $8.5 billion. Microsoft will force users to install Skype and uninstall Microsoft Messenger by March 15th.
