SNUPI Technologies Lands $1.5M
SNUPI Technologies, a brand new startup spun out of the University of Washington, has raised $1.5M in a funding round. The seattle startup said the funding came from Madrona Venture Group and Rada Partners. SNUPI's technology, which is short for Sensor Network Utilizing Powerline Infrastructure, came out of technology developed by Professors Shwetak Patel and Matt Reynolds and the University of Washington and Georgia Institute of Technology. The firm said the new funds will go to build its team, and to design and build the hardware and software. SNUPI's product aims to take the wiring already in homes to create a wireless sensor network.
