Large Screen Kindle Fire HD Ships From Amazon

Seattle-based Amazon.com has shipped its Kindle Fire HD 8.9", the large screen version of its tablet PC, the firm said today. The device--which is selling for $299--will also be available at Best Buy tomorrow, and will then roll out to Staples, Radio Shack, and other retailers. Amazon said the 4G version of the new Kindle Fire HD will ship next week.
