Amazon Launches Kindle In Japan

Amazon.com's Japanese unit said today that it has launched a Japanese version of the Kindle Store, along with a Japanese-tailored version of the Kindle Paperwhite, the first Japanese-language Kindle. Amazon said its store will offer over 50,000 Japanese-language Kindle books in the country. Amazon said the Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Paperwhite Wi-Fi + 3G will be available today for pre-order, and ship November 19th. The Kindle store launches on October 25th. Separately, Amazon said it will start shipping its new Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire in Japan on December 19th.
