Startup Takes On Siri, Via Windows Phone
Are you a Windows Phone user who is envious of those Apple iPhone users happily asking questions and getting answers from Siri? You don't have to be so envious now, thanks to startup Ask Ziggy, which said today that it has raised a chunk of funding to help create a rival to Siri that currently runs on Windows Phone. Ask Ziggy said it raised $5M from an un-named, publicly traded company to help fund its efforts to develop something even better than Siri, which uses speech recognition to create a virtual, voice-powered personal assistant. The firm plans to also expand to Android and Apple devices, but currently offers its app on Windows Phone for free.
