New Bing Translation App Translates Menus, More
Ever wish you could read that in-decipherable, Chinese language menu in front of you? A new, updated translator app from Bing, for the Windows Phone, now includes a feature which automatically takes and translates photos from your mobile phone, and overlays the English translation onto your phone's screen. The new app--available for free downloads to Windows Phone--is a significant update to what had been a fairly limited Windows Phone language translation app. Bing's new Translator App can also be used to subtitle foreign street signs and more, all via the phone's built in camera--essentially subtitles your life via the Windows Phone screen. Bing said the newly updated app now works with over 30 different languages, and also includes offline translation which does not require an Internet connection to operate, and speech recognition.
