Microsoft Eyes Micromessaging Startup
Microsoft is reportely in the last step of acquiring a developer of micro-messaging software aimed at enterprises, according to reports today, in a deal worth as much as $1 billion. According to those reports, Microsoft is set to acquire Yammer, which develops a corporate micro-messaging service--similar to Twitter, but for companies. Yammer was founded by one of the former founders of PayPal, David Sacks. Apparently, rumors of the acquisition came after employees of Yammer, um, yammered a bit too much at local San Francisco about the deal.
