Kona Medical Gets $30M In Series C
Bellevue-based Kona Medical, a developer of ultrasound-based treatments for high blood pressure, said Wednesday that it has raised $30M in a Series C funding round. The round came from existing Essex Woodlands, Domain Associates, Morgenthaler Ventures and BioStar Ventures, as well as an un-named "large-cap" medical technology company. Kona Medical said the round may include additional investors. As part of the funding, the company said that John Bowers, formerly SVP at SonoSite, has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer. The new funding will go towards clinical trials, staff, and facilities. Kona Medical's founder and CEO is Michael Gertner, MD. More information »
