Buddy Gets $1M In Seed Funding

Seattle-based The Buddy Platform, a new startup headed by David McLauchlan, said this morning that it has raised $1M in a seed funding round, and released its software. Buddy said the funding came from Transmedia Capital, along with Crestlight Venture Productions. Buddy is developing a cross-platform, mobile platform to help developers of apps for the iOS, Windows Phone, Android, Facebook, and other platforms. The firm provides APIs to handle back end functions like creating and managing user accounts, pulling location data, image filtering, group handling, and more. The firm said the new funds will go to grow the platform and expand the company's relationship with major brands and agencies publishing apps. More information »
