TriQuint Wins U.S. Army Contract
Hillsboro, Oregon-based TriQuint Semiconductor said today that it has signed a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL). According to the firm, the agreement calls for exploration and fabrication of new, high frequency and mixed signal integrated circuits based on its gallium nitride (GaN) technology. Financial details of the win were not announced. TriQuint said the deal is aimed at stimulating high performance monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) development, which is being applied to communications, radar, and electronic warfare applications.
