Itron Wins Vermont Utility

Liberty Lake-based smart utility meter maker Itron reports another customer win this morning, this time with the Burlington Electric Department of Burlington, Vermont. Itron said that about 20,000 of its smart meters will be used as part of a smart grid project from the Burlington utility, which serves approximately 16,000 residential customers and more than 3,600 commercial customers. Itron's meters will be used to streamline data collection and billing in addition to helping to enhance energy forecasting.
