Tier 3 Partners With Equinix

Bellevue-based Tier 3, which develops a cloud computing platform, has tied with data center provider Equinix, to help enterprise customers of Equinix deploy cloud technology. According to the two, Equinix will offer up Tier 3's infrastructure-as-a-service across Equinix data centers, starting in Chicago and New York, eventually expanding into Europe and Asia. Financial impact of the deal were not announced. Tier 3 allows enterprise customers to create their own private clouds, using public cloud resources. Tier 3 is venture backed by Ignition Capital and Madrona VEnture Group, and is headed by Adam Wray.
