Verizon Cuts 850 In Bellevue

Verizon Wireless said Thursday that it is cutting 850 jobs in Bellevue, as its closes the firm's call center in the location. The cuts are part of a broader, national cut by Verizon, which is shutting three call centers nationwide. Verizon said Thursday that it is shutting its call centers in Houston, Texas; Southfield, Michigan; and Bellevue. The firm said it is offering the affected employees with the option to relocate to one of its other call centers, paying $10,000 each in relocation assistance to those moving to new areas. Verizon is cutting 3,175 jobs nationwide in the call center shutdowns.
