eMagin Gains $1.1M SBIR Contract

Bellevue-based eMagin, which develops organic light emitting diodes (OLED), reported today that it has gained a $1.1M, SBIR contract. The firm said the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract is with the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), and will go towards developing a 1920x1200 pixel OLED microdisplay for both the commercial and military market. eMagin said its technology is being aimed at use in 3D gamin g and entertainment headset, high performance simulation and training sytsems, and electronic viewfinders for still and motion cameras in both military and commercial applications.
