Itron Ties With Panasonic On Smart Metering

Liberty Lake, Washington-based Itron, the maker of smart utility meters, said today along with Panasonic that the two have partnered on smart metering products. THe two said the partnership covers delivering gas meters to utilities in Europe. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The two said they will collaborate on development of Itron's next generation smart gas meter, including integrating key hardware electronics for low power radio.
