Micro Power Electronics Acquired By Electrochem
Beaverton, Oregon-based Micro Power Electronics, a developer of power supplies for the portable equipment market, said Tuesday that it has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Electrochem Solutions, Inc.. Electrochem is a subsidiary of Greatbach, and Micro Power was owned by private equity firm Weston Presidio. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Micro Power develops portable battery power suppliers for the medical, automatic data collection, military, and other markets. Weston Presidio acquired Micro Power back in 2006 from Sierra Ventures and Palisades Ventures. Micro Power was advised by XMS Capital Partners in the deal.
