Howard Schultz For President?

Seattle area entrepreneur and venture capitalist Howard Schultz--founder of Starbucks, and co-founder of venture capital firm Maveron--has been suggested as a candidate for Americans Elect, a "virtual third party", according to a report from the Los Angeles Times today. According to the story, well funded third party American Elect, which includes both Republicans, Democrats, and Independents, is looking to run a "virtual primary" to select a candidate, with Schultz among the top names. The addition of Schultz would not be the first investor to enter the race--Mitt Romney is well known for running private equity firm Bain & Company. Schultz co-founded Maveron in 1998 with Dan Levitan.
