PlayOn Launches Web DVR Service

Seattle- and New York-based PlayOn, a new, web-based digital video recording service, said today that it has launched a service, PlayLater which allows users to record videos from any website, and watch them later, even when offline. According to the firm, the service records videos--including movies and television shows--and allows users to stream them back later for watching. The company said its service costs $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year. PlayLater is run by MediaMall Technologies.
