RF Surgical Systems Finds $12M
Bellevue-based RF Surgical Systems, a developer of systems used to keep track of surgical sponges within patients, said Tuesday that it has raised $12M in a new fundraising round. The round was led by Split Rock Partners, and also included prior investors Menlo Ventures and Stanford University. RF Surgical develops RFID-based products which can detect and prevent the patient retention of surgical sponges. The firm said it is in use in more than 1500 operating rooms, trauma, labor, and delivery suites nationwide; the firm's products have been FDA approved since 2006. The firm said the new funds will go towards growth and new product development. More information »
