Amnis Acquired By EMD Millipore

Seattle-based Amnis Corporation, which manufacturer advanced cell imaging systems for the life sciences market, has been acquired by German firm EMD Millipore, the Life Science division of Merck KGaA. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Amnis said it had sales of $14M in 2010, and has maintained an annual growth rate in excess of 80% since 2005. Amnis was headed by David A. Basiji. The company was venture backed by MedVenture Associates, Crown Venture Fund, and OrbiMed Capital, and was founded in 1999.
