Mentor Graphics Boosts Portland State
Wilsonville, Oregon-based Mentor Graphics said this morning that it has boosted Portland State University's Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) department, by donating one of its Veloce Solo emulators to the school. The emulator, which is used for hardware emulation of integrated circuits, will be used as part of both upper division undergraduate and graduate curriculum. Mentor said the emulation product will be used in ASIC verification and ASIC design courses. Hardware emulators typically cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to millions of dollars.
