Sprint Eyes Clearwire Buyout, Says Report
Sprint Nextel is positioning high speed wireless network provider Clearwire for an acquisition by the firm, according to a report from Bloomberg Thursday. According to the report, Sprint, one of the biggest investors in Clearwire, is looking for ways to provide funding to Clearwire to continue its high speed wireless network build out, which would result in Sprint buying the equity in Clearwire it doesn't already own. Clearwire provides the 4G wireless, broadband network for Sprint, via its WiMax network.
