Amazon Targeted In Congress
Seattle-based Amazon.com's state tax fight looks it is about to move to Congress, according to reports Friday evening. Sen. Dick Durban (D-Ill.) and Sen. Tim Johnson (D-S.D.) are co-sponsoring the Main Street Fairness Act, which was expected to be introduced on Friday. Both Illinois and South Dakota are among the states battling Amazon over its refusal to collect sales tax, with those states Amazon affiliates among the casualties in the tax battle. The move was first reported by Politico.
