Amazon Launches Private Sales Site

Seattle-based Amazon.com has launched itself into the hot "private sales" space, saying it has launched a new site called MYHABIT.COM. According to Amazon, the new, membership-only fashion site will offer discounts on fashion brands such as Doo.Ri, Elizabeth and James, Halston and Vera Wang, with daily sales. The new site pits Amazon.com against such sites as Gilt Group and HauteLook, the private sales site acquired by Nordstrom in March.
