PopCap To Donate Weekend Sales To Earthquake Relief
Seattle-based casual games maker PopCap Games said this morning that it will be discounting all of its iPhone and iPad games, and donating sales from those games this weekend to the Japan earthquake relief effort. According to PopCap, it will donate all of the revenues from sales of all of its games--including popular titles Bejeweled, Bookworm, Chuzzle, Peggle, and Plants vs. Zombies--to the Red Cross, starting tomorrow, Saturday March 19th at 12:01 am, and ending Sunday at midnight. PopCap also said it would drop prices to 99 cents on iPod and $1.99 on iPad as part of the effort. PopCap said that it is looking to support the "countless" people in Japan needing food, shelter, and medical attention. PopCap has an office in Tokyo, but reports no issues at the office or with its employees in Japan.
