March Madness Drives Internet Traffic Spike
Portland-based Integra Telecom, which provides telecommunications and bandwidth to businesses, said today that it has seen a spike in Internet Traffic at its business customers, due to the kickoff of the March Madness basketball tournament. The firm said it saw a 28 percent increase in traffic above normal Thursday, as the tournament kicked off. March Madness is notorious for its impact on business networks and Internet connections, as employees sneak a look at what is going on with their favorite NCAA teams, visit sports websites, and other related activity related to the tournament.
