NanoString Names Chief Medical Officer
Seattle-based NanoString Technologies, a developer of molecular diagnostics equipment being developed to count large sets of target molecules in biological samples, said it has named J. Wayne Cowens, M.D., as its Chief Medical Officer. Cowens was most recently at Genomic Health, and also has served at Chiron Corporation (now Novartis Vaccines & Diagnostics) and Ribozyme Pharmaceuticals, in addition to consoluting for firms IDEC Pharmaceuticals, Scios Inc. and Ligand Pharmaceuticals.
