Kindle Singles Debut on Kindle Store
Seattle-based Amazon.com said this morning that it has debuted its "Kindle Singles" on the Kindle Store today, making short articles available on its electronic reader and various Kindle applications. The new singles include short essays--between 5,000 and 30,000 words--from such writers as Rich Cohen, Darin Strauss, Ian Ayres, as well as a selection of items from the TED conference organizers. Amazon said the new singles are available between $0.99 and $4.99, and will include original reporting, essays, memoirs and fiction. Amazon launched the Kindle Singles program in October to authors.
